One of the problems with stitching panorama views, as mentioned on the home page, is that of matching the exposure between the sections of the panorama. As you can see in the sunsets above, my first couple of attempts exhibited this problem, as evidenced by the vertical "banding." I solved this in the stitchsunsetview1.jpg, stitchsunsetview2.jpg, and sunset1stitch.jpg by locking the camera's exposure on the same portion of the view before each shutter release. Just point to the same part of the view, press the shutter half-way down and hold. Then reposition the camera and take the picture. Another approach might be to use the manual record mode and set the special function (via the Menu button on the camera) to turn on the AE lock. But I have not tried that yet.

A tripod was used for all the panorama pictures on this page except for the living room picture, tildenpark.jpg, frontofhouse.jpg, treelotstitch.jpg, and viewoffbackdeck1.jpg. So you see, if you're careful, you can handhold for panoramas. You're likely to have to crop more of the top and bottom of the pictures if you do, however, since your shots are less likely to be in perfect horizontal alignment.

Tildenpark.jpg was actually shot with the wide angle adaptor, proving that at least with distance shots, wide-angle distortion introduced by the lens doesn't prevent a sticthing program from accurately joining the images. That image came out rather well, in fact, with good focus. It incorporates only three images. Without the wide-angle converter, I believe I would have had to use six images to achieve the same angle of view.
